Forat de l'Escala
Barcelona, Spain
September 27th to 30th of 2010
2 x 5 x 16 m

Penique productions was chosen to take part in the group show Sense Títol: a traditional annual exhibit of work produced by the graduating class at the Fine Arts Faculty of the Universitat de Barcelona. For this event, Penique productions presented Forat de l’Escala, a piece that measured over 16-meters in height.
The project delimited an intangible space. It made a forgotten space visible. This niche of useless uninhabitable architecture was delimited by the stairway and took on its spiral shape. The location allowed visitors to experience the work from the inside or from the outside. The direct natural light during the day and the artificial light at night generated a characteristic play of colour, transparencies and intensities.
